Associate Erin Victoria to Present in Legal Workshops for Spanish-Speaking Journalists
Beginning this week, Caplan Cobb associate Erin Victoria will be presenting in a series of free legal workshops for Spanish-speaking journalists in collaboration with ProJourn and the Institute for Nonprofit News. They will address the most critical issues facing journalists today, including newsgathering rights, defamation and privacy law, and the right of access to public documents and meetings.
There will be three sessions. See below for registration links to each session:
October 18th: Participants will learn about the legality of public recording, considerations for covering elections, protests, and more.
November 1st: This session will provide tips for assessing the legal risks posed by a story, sharing how to mitigate these risks, and pinpointing when it’s time to get legal help.
November 15th: The third and final workshop will give journalists an overview of access and transparency issues, including public records, open meetings, and body camera.
