Caplan Cobb Works to Bring Transparency to the City of Atlanta

Today the Atlanta City Council will consider an ordinance that creates a transparency officer and requires mandatory annual open records training for employees as well as establishes a public website that tracks public records requests. The ordinance is the result of negotiations between the City, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and Channel 2 Action News. In April, Caplan Cobb filed a civil complaint with the Attorney General of Georgia on behalf of AJC and Channel 2 Action News, alleging multiple violations of the Georgia Open Records Act.
