Caplan Cobb Files Petition with the Supreme Court of the United States
Our May 9th filing of a petition with the Supreme Court of the United States marks Caplan Cobb's ongoing pro bono commitment. Since 2016, Caplan Cobb associate Sarah Brewerton-Palmer has represented a prisoner in his habeas corpus lawsuit seeking to vacate his conviction under 18 U.S.C. § 924(c), after the Supreme Court struck down a similar statute in 2015. The petition for a writ of certiorari seeks review of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision earlier this year and asks the Supreme Court to hold that § 924(c) is unconstitutional.
