Caplan Cobb Announces Settlement with the Georgia Secretary of State
Caplan Cobb and its client American Oversight recently announced a settlement with the Georgia Secretary of State, requiring the Secretary’s office to improve its compliance with the Open Records Act and pay $35,000 in attorneys’ fees. The settlement followed a lawsuit that Caplan Cobb and American Oversight brought last year, detailing the Secretary’s failure to provide records in response to dozens of American Oversight’s public records requests over the course of nearly two years. The settlement will help improve access to records for all members of the public.
