Chris Hood is an associate with Caplan Cobb who focuses his practice on complex business litigation and white–collar criminal defense in federal and state court.

Before joining Caplan Cobb, Chris served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia where he prosecuted dozens of financial crime and public corruption cases. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Chris served as a law clerk to the Honorable Marcia G. Cooke of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Chris also practiced in the Washington, D.C. office of Boies Schiller Flexner LLP.

Focus Areas

Federal Litigation

Chris participates in all phases of civil and criminal litigation and routinely tries cases to verdict. Chris has delivered opening and closing statements, examined and cross-examined witnesses, argued pre-trial and post-trial motions, and briefed appeals. Chris also managed hundreds of civil and criminal cases as a law clerk on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Business and Tort Litigation

Chris represents clients in complex commercial litigation and business disputes. He has helped clients achieve favorable results in cases involving fraud, contract disputes, unfair competition, class actions, and business torts.
