Ashley C. Brown is a partner at Caplan Cobb, where she focuses her practice on business litigation, trust and estates litigation, and appellate advocacy. She represents a diverse range of clients, including individuals, large corporations, and governmental entities, across both state and federal courts.

Before joining Caplan Cobb, Ashley gained significant experience as a law clerk for two federal judges and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of Tennessee. She earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor for the Virginia Journal of International Law and was a member of the Law and Public Service Program.

Business Litigation & Counseling

Ashley represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of complex commercial matters, including breach-of-contract disputes, employment disputes, securities matters, and class actions. She has advised clients ranging from large corporations to non-profits and governmental entities in both state and federal courts.

Trusts and Estates Litigation

Ashley has extensive experience representing grantors, trust protectors, beneficiaries, and trustees in various trust-related litigation. She has successfully handled cases involving breaches of fiduciary duties, trust modification, and trust reformation.

Appellate Practice

With her experience clerking for two federal judges and serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Ashley has a deep understanding of federal civil and criminal practice. She has worked on appeals addressing complex legal issues, including privacy, technology, constitutional claims, and ineffective assistance of counsel, and has adapted her knowledge to represent clients in state appellate courts as well.
